A Quick Note
SAC ADS is continuing to grow, and I’m excited about where this could go. Right now, my focus is pretty simple: connect more of the commercial community here and make it easier for people outside Sacramento to see the level of talent and work already happening here.
This month, we’re starting to put a few of those ideas into action.
Submit Your Work
One thing I’d really like to start doing is showing more of the great commercial work coming from people in our community.
If you’ve worked on something you’re proud of, send it our way and include project credits when available. I want to make sure the people who helped create the work are recognized too.
Selected projects will be shared through SAC ADS, including Instagram and future newsletters. More importantly, this gives the Film Commissioner a growing collection of local work she can put in front of agencies, brands, and productions when advocating for Sacramento.
The House | Interest List Now Open
After meeting with many of you and others across the industry, one thing kept coming up: Sacramento’s film and commercial community needs a home.
That’s why I’m launching the interest list for The House, a separate private members club and physical home where our industry can connect, share work, collaborate, screen projects, and build stronger relationships.
The bigger vision is to strengthen the community from within while creating a clear front door for outside producers, agencies, and productions looking to connect with Sacramento talent.
We’re starting by seeing who wants to be part of it. If you know someone who would be interested, please share The House with them.
Community Spotlight | Joshua Reis
This month I want to highlight Director/Cinematographer Joshua Reis. Joshua’s portfolio spans feature films, commercials, digital, beauty, and music videos.
His work includes projects for Jeep, McDonald’s, Gucci, Netflix, Justin Bieber, Eminem, and others. If you haven’t met Joshua or seen his work, take a look and connect with him. Part of what I want SAC ADS to accomplish is simply making sure more talented people in our own community know each other.

Industry Update | California Production Incentives
An update on AB 2403: the proposed statewide tax credit for commercial production did not advance this year.

Growing the Directory
The SAC ADS directory continues to grow from around Sacramento.
The more complete we can make this list, the better picture we can give agencies and brands of what Sacramento can actually support. There’s already a lot happening here. We just need to make it easier to find. I’m heavily relying on word of mouth and meeting people. There are many people who are tough to find here locally.
If you know someone who should be part of it, please forward this email to them.
The goal remains simple: make Sacramento impossible to overlook as a place where great commercial work gets made.
If you know someone who belongs in this community, forward this newsletter and encourage them to join us.
See you next month,
Danny
